Common Questions and Sample Answers
1. Are you a tidy person?
Mmm. Yes, I consider myself to be pretty tidy. While my house isn’t always spotless, it’s usually in good order. I live in an apartment that’s quite sparsely furnished so it’s easy to keep it neat. Also, I have a habit of cleaning up as I go so things never get too messy. I haven’t always been so orderly though; when I was a teenager, sometimes my bedroom was like a pigsty! I think as we grow older, we become tidier; or at least I have!
2. Do you think that it is necessary to be tidy?
I definitely think so. For me. Keeping my place and especially my working desk neat and free of clutter helps me to think clearly and remain calm. I know some people who are very messy and very efficient, but I find a chaotic space to be very distracting.
3. Do you think people should be tidy all the time?
Yeah, as far as possible. I know it can be difficult to keep things in order all the time especially if you have a job and a family. I’d imagine it’s really difficult to keep things spick and span if you have toddlers. However, I think it’s better to be tidy everyday rather than letting it build up because then you have to clean up a lot.
4. Do you keep your workplace tidy?
Absolutely, it’s a priority for me. As I mentioned, keeping my desk clean and free of unnecessary items helps me to focus on my work. I’ve seen many office desks that were a total mess with stacks of paper, stationary, post it notes and coffee mugs on them. I really can’t understand how people work like that.
